Sue has collected glass paintings for many years. This one is from the south of India.Painted about 60years ago. It is made in a traditional reverse glass painting process, an art form consisting of applying paint directly to the back of the glass. The imagery is fluid and nicely drawn .They have added foil to the back of the picture which is typical of the paintings that come from Maharastra .This is Shiva with his entourage around a stone lingham signfying vitality among other things.It is mounted in a fabric frame .
