These were originally worn as long head covers for the women of the Punjab in India.They are modestly embroidered with fine silk on vegetable dyed  khadi cotton .Circa 1950.Beautiful Autumnal colours and such fine needle work .They are made of three pieces of the handwoven fabric joined together and then finely embroidered from the back (incredibly) of the cloth into repeating geometric patterns all over the joined.cloth. Please ask if you would like photographs of individual pieces or come to the shop to see our selection .Starting price £95.00
