The quilt is most probably from North Eastern region of Bihar in India. It is of particular interest because the patches are irregular in shape and have not been squared off in the usual uniform way.
Beautiful vintage Kantha quilts from West Bengal (good quality ones, increasingly difficult to find). Traditionally made in rural areas by women as wedding gifts for the grooms family. Their name 'Kantha' comes from their 'Kantha' hand stitching. Each one of a kind quilt can be used as a blanket, throw, walk hanging - or anything else!
136 cm x 164 cm
Note: as these are vintage items they may have patches and slightly imperfections, we think this is a part of their charm.
