We have had these beautiful and bright Cushion covers made especially for us, repurposed from an old Kantha quilt that we carefully selected. Traditionally made in rural areas by women as wedding gifts for the grooms family, their name 'Kantha' means "rag" as these textiles are made from recycling fabrics such as saris. The term 'Kantha' now, is synonymous with hand stitching. Each Quilt is a work of art, stitched delicately by hand and utilising every bit of scrap fabric. We were drawn to this quilt in particular due to its vibrant colours and the fact that you can see all the different layers of fabric that have been used to create the textile,
some parts have worn through and colours blend into one another. We have had these cushions backed in a complementing soft green linen
Feather filled cushion pad included.
